AZB & Partners has merged with Banglaore-based Anup S Shah Law Firm to enhance its presence in southern India. The merger took effect on 1 September.
Anup S Shah Law Firm has three partners – Anup Shah, Sunitha Rajesh and Suraj Govindaraj – and approximately 15 associates. The merger boosts AZB’s presence in Bangalore to over 40 lawyers. It also sees AZB expanding its footprint, with additional offices in Hyderabad and Chennai enabling it to offer clients a wide spectrum of legal services in the south of the country.
The merger follows hot on the heels of J Sagar Associates’ recent takeover of M&C Partners, a prominent Bangalore-based firm (see India Business Law Journal, Volume 3, Issue 2). It signals a renewed focus on India’s southern cities by the country’s major law firms.
