Restructuring lawyer Ben McCosker has joined Mayer Brown as counsel in Hong Kong. McCosker was previously a counsel at offshore law firm Walkers for more than five years in Hong Kong until 2021, when he moved to London to join Campbells as counsel.

“As a gateway jurisdiction, I see real opportunity in the Hong Kong restructuring market over the coming years, not in spite of, but rather because of, the enduring market volatility following the property market distress in 2021 and the continuing drag of the covid-19 pandemic on the regional economy,” McCosker said.

McCosker brings in his more than a decade of experience in Australia, Hong Kong, Bermuda and the Cayman Islands, having represented creditors, shareholders, and companies in contentious and non-contentious special situations, insolvency, and restructuring matters. He focuses on complex multi-jurisdictional restructuring transactions.
