The In-House Counsel Forum (IHCF) of Korea signed an MoU with the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) on 18 July to promote international arbitration as a preferred method of dispute resolution for resolving global disputes.

The MoU, which was signed by the SIAC’s CEO Gloria Lim and the IHCF’s vice president Son Songyi at the Intercontinental Seoul COEX, will pave the way for collaboration between the two organisations in organising conferences, seminars, workshops or other events on international arbitration in South Korea and Singapore.

“We are pleased to be entering into this collaboration with SIAC,” said Son. “It will deepen ties between our two organisations while enabling the IHCF to provide enhanced capacity building programmes in international arbitration for our members.”

Lim added that Korean parties are valued users of the SIAC and the agreement will strengthen ties with the Korean business community through the partnership with the IHCF.

“This MoU provides an excellent platform for the SIAC to ensure that our services meet the needs of companies in Korea, and for SIAC to work with the IHCF to provide practical programmes that deepen in-house legal teams’ knowledge of international arbitration law and practice,” said Lim.
