Singapore’s Drew & Napier has named four new managing directors, who are from the law firm’s dispute resolution and intellectual property (IP) practices.
Yuet Min Foo and Mahesh Rai are from the dispute resolution team, while Yvonne Tang and Siau Wen Lim are from the IP practice.
Drew & Napier CEO Cavinder Bull, SC, said Foo and Rai had long brought talent and strength to the disputes practice, and they would help the firm’s next phase of expansion.
“Our dispute resolution practice continues to be involved in the most significant cases in the Singapore courts even as our share of international arbitration work in the region grows apace,” he told Asia Business Law Journal.
“Yuet Min and Mahesh’s standing in our courts as well as in the international arbitration community, particularly for China and India-related disputes, will be invaluable in the next phase of the firm’s growth.”
Tang and Lim’s appointments are timely for the firm.
“In intellectual property, Yvonne and Siau Wen take on leadership of a practice at a time when the firm continues to dominate the Singapore IP scene, with solid registration capabilities in Southeast Asia. Prosecution and IP litigation continue to be key areas of strength,” Bull said.
In addition to their appointments as managing directors, Foo, Rai, Tang and Lim are also members of Drew & Napier’s management committee, which oversees the firm’s strategic direction.
