Wegner, who was a senior member of international arbitration and cross-border litigation practice at the Korean firm, brought along his colleague Edern Coënt, who was a foreign legal consultant at Kim & Chang in Seoul for more than three years. In his new role at Mayer Brown, Coënt will work as a senior associate in international arbitration practice in Singapore.

Wegner has more than two decades of experience in international arbitration, having represented Asian and European clients across a broad spectrum of cases including construction and infrastructure disputes, and energy and defence-related arbitrations. The England and Germany-qualified lawyer also arbitrates in the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Court of Arbitration and the Korean Commercial Arbitration Board.

Coënt is qualified in New York and France. He has worked in Paris, Hong Kong and Seoul including at the secretariat of the ICC Court of Arbitration.
