Maples Group has announced new leaderships for its practice groups across the region, including the appointment of Singapore-based partner Michael Gagie as regional managing partner for Asia and head of the Asia finance practice.
Maples also expanded the role of Hong Kong-based partners Matt Roberts and John Trehey as head of the Asia corporate practice and head of the Asia dispute resolution and insolvency practice, respectively.
Meanwhile, partners Ann Ng and Anthony Webster in Hong Kong will co-lead the Asia funds and investment management practice.
Gagie has an in-depth understanding of the Asia market, and spent the past decade working in several leadership roles in the law firm’s Hong Kong and Singapore offices. Gagie and the newly appointed Asia practice group leaders will continue to work alongside the firm’s fund and fiduciary services businesses in the region.
The firm’s global managing partner, Jonathan Green, based in the Cayman Islands, said that the new leadership would bring the lawyers and professionals closer to provide the most efficient service for clients.
“We aim to continue to provide the most straightforward, convenient and accessible leading legal, fund and fiduciary services to Maples Group’s clients in Asia,” said Green.
