LegaLogic Consulting has advised ad-tech startup AdSparx on the sale of its assets to Discovery, while DLA Piper and Discovery’s vice president, M&A and global corporate legal, Julian Pitcher, advised the Nasdaq-listed provider of real-life entertainment.
The deal, which was for an undisclosed amount, was announced on 22 September.
LegaLogic’s team comprised partner Vivek Sadhale and senior legal adviser Siddhesh Iyer. Sadhale told India Business Law Journal that the deal “once again proved that structuring IP along with talent in different geographies comes with interesting foreign exchange, corporate law and tax angles”.
DLA Piper was represented by London-based partner Jon Kenworthy.
Discovery said that the acquisition would bring it expertise and key capabilities in video platform engineering, and that as part of the acquisition it would take on employees of Novix Media Technologies, a Pune-based company that works with AdSparx.
