ETR Law Firm, founded in January 1993, is a ministerial-level civilised law firm and an outstanding national law firm. It is one of the top 10 Law firms in the Belt and Road Initiative, one of the first foreign-related legal services law firms in Guangdong province, and one of the first members of the Belt and Road Initiative Lawyer Alliance. Headquartered in Guangzhou, ETR Law Firm has 25 offices globally, including Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Hainan, Zhuhai, Zhongshan, Dongguan, Foshan and Gongbo’gyamda in mainland China, as well as branches in the US, Japan, Pakistan, Australia, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia.

Abiding by the principle of ‘One department, One platform, One bridge’, ETR Law Firm and has established the Hong Kong-Macao Lawyer Services Department. The firm actively engages in and promotes the integrated delivery of legal services in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GBA:

1. It has attracted a team of experienced lawyers from the GBA. Currently, the law firm comprises 29 lawyers recruited from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao GBA.

2. Broaden the communication network and influence of lawyers in the GBA. We provide a broad platform for showcasing and exchanging ideas for lawyers in the GBA. We occasionally conduct legal seminars and events in the GBA, Yangtze River Delta and other regions.

3. Provide high-quality practice platform for lawyers in the GBA: Many businesses and individuals from the GBA seek our services due to our reputation. We successfully represented the first case of a Hong Kong-Macao lawyer practicing in mainland China and won the first trial, an important step for the alignment and recognition of rules and enforcement of judgments between Hong Kong and mainland China. Additionally, the lawyers from the GBA assisted bankruptcy administrators in mainland China to obtain confirmation and assistance from Hong Kong courts. This was the first case under the new mechanism of mutual recognition and assistance in bankruptcy between mainland China and Hong Kong, effectively strengthening the judicial co-operation between the two regions.
