Khaitan & Co assisted Eris Oaknet Healthcare in a USD42 million deal to acquire nine dermatology trademarks from Glenmark Pharmaceuticals.
Eris Oaknet is a wholly owned subsidiary of Eris Lifesciences, which is a publicly listed Indian pharmaceutical company with a leading presence in core cardio-metabolic franchises for 15 years. The company has diversified its business with the addition of three emerging therapies: gynaecology, neuropsychiatry and dermatology.
Partner Kalpana Unadkat led the core Khaitan team with senior associate Aman Anand and associate Ahaan Dar. Partners Arindam Ghosh and Shailendra Bhandare also assisted the team.
Veritas Legal partners Tushar Raut and Natasha Sethna led the team that acted for and advised Glenmark Pharmaceuticals in relation to the sale of the nine dermatological brands.
This acquisition is slated to augment Eris Oaknet’s dermatological product offerings.
