Singapore law firm JTJB has launched a construction and infrastructure practice led by recently hired senior partner Yeo Boon Tat to bolster its offerings to clients and position the firm to tap high-growth opportunities, says managing partner John Sze.
Sze told Asia Business Law Journal the regional law firm was operating in a region that continued to see significant investments and growth in manufacturing, logistics and infrastructure developments. With the setup of the construction and infrastructure practice, the firm was looking at supporting clients in their projects at a regional level, and not just within the Singapore market, he added.
Yeo joins the firm from Watson Farley & Williams where he worked as a partner for two years. He also served as director at Quahe Woo & Palmer for two years and partner at Pinsent Masons MPillay for 12 years. He brings knowledge in complex disputes involving public infrastructure, power plants, oil refineries and commercial developments across the region, including Singapore, China, Taiwan and Vietnam.
He also advises on non-contentious aspects of construction projects, from tender and contract documentation to procurement strategy and project risk management.
In addition to launching the new construction and infrastructure practice, JTJB has already started the recruitment process to support its growth.
