Shanghai-based Joint-Win Partners has launched a branch in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, becoming the first local office of a tier-one city law firm.
The firm already has six branches in Jiangsu province, Zhejiang province and Vietnam, with the Nantong office in Zhejiang having just opened at the end of November.
Shangrao’s GDP exceeded RMB300 billion (USD43.05 billion) in 2021, ranking the city fifth in Jiangxi province. Although it is not as much as the capital Nanchang and the second-largest city Ganzhou, Shangrao’s economic growth rate is faster than these two cities at 9%.
Jiangxi has been actively attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in recent years. Hong Kong investment in Jiangxi reached USD11 billion in 2020, accounting for 87.8% of total foreign investment, making it the province’s largest source of FDI.
