Jingtian & Gongcheng has hired Sun Tian, Zhang Xianfeng and Xu Yi as partners to strengthen multiple practice areas in the Beijing and Shanghai offices.
Sun will split her time between the Beijing and Shanghai offices. She has expertise in compliance, dispute resolution, investment and finance. She has assisted enterprises across multiple sectors, including transportation, correspondence, internet, the military, finance, energy and natural resources.
Previously a partner at DHH Law Firm, Sun led the team advising on the implementation of mergers and reorganisations between China State Shipbuilding Corporation and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, which amounted to RMB790 billion (USD109.89 billion). She was recognised as among China Business Law Journal’s A-List of legal elites in 2022.
Zhang left Zhonglun W&D Law Firm as its senior partner to join Jingtian & Gongcheng’s Beijing office. His career spans more than 20 years, focusing on dispute resolution, corporate and commercial law, and the real estate and manufacturing sector, handling many second-instance revision cases in the Supreme People’s Court.
Xu, who will be based in the Shanghai office, has more than 15 years of experience in the intellectual property and litigation sectors. She joined IP specialists Lusheng Law Firm and Wintell after being a judge in the Shanghai Pudong New Area People’s Court IP Tribunal.
Xu successfully handled lots of civil litigation cases, involving up to RMB10 million in compensation. She also has dealt with cases related to temporary injunctions, parallel imports, and anti-law principal clauses. Many matters she participated in were chosen as Top 10 Cases of IP Protection in the courts in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Guangdong and Hangzhou, etc.
Her clients include famous corporations such as Amazon, Starbucks, Universal Pictures and Burberry.
