India has responded quickly to Barack Obama’s victory in the US presidential election.
Anticipating a Democrat victory as far back as August, the Indian government engaged the Democrat-leaning law firm Patton Boggs to represent its interests on Capitol Hill.
Under the George W Bush administration, India’s preferred lobbyist in Washington was Barbour Griffith & Rogers, a Republican-leaning firm that included several Bush loyalists such as former US ambassador to India, Robert Blackwill.
