Jia Yuanyuan, an IP specialist, has joined Haiwen & Partners as a partner in Beijing.
Jia, formerly a partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm, specialises in IP litigation, technology transactions and licensing. She also worked with AFD China, an IP agency.
She received her PhD in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007, and worked as a post-doctoral researcher at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine from 2007 to 2008. Her background in science and engineering greatly benefits her in dealing with high-tech IP projects and she participated in Iwncomm v. Sony (2017), the first standard essential patent-based case granted in China.
Jia is a patent attorney in China and qualified in China and California.
