King & Spalding has hired international arbitration lawyer Nils Eliasson as a partner in its trial and global disputes practice group in Singapore. He joined from Shearman & Sterling where he was a partner and led the firm’s Asia international arbitration practice in Hong Kong for more than six years.
Eliasson acts as counsel and arbitrator in commercial, construction and investment treaty disputes in Asia, with particular experience in the energy, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors. He has acted in cases before arbitration institutes such as the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the International Chamber of Commerce, the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes, the London Court of International Arbitration, and the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission.
Edward Kehoe, co-head of King & Spalding’s international arbitration group in New York, said Eliasson’s expertise in energy and infrastructure disputes was a good fit for the firm’s focus in Asia.
