Economic Laws Practice has hired Ajit Tolani from KPMG as an associate partner. Tolani will look after transfer pricing matters at the firm.
A qualified lawyer and chartered accountant, Tolani was previously the head of KPMG’s transfer pricing practice in Pune. The move to Economic Laws Practice means that he is giving up accountancy to practice law.
Although he is excited about his new role, Tolani points out that creating a portfolio of clients will be a tough mandate. “The role and responsibility at ELP is greatly challenging as compared to KPMG. The big four accounting firms get the majority of their clientele as referrals from their international network, whereas my role here is to develop clientele through value-added work.”
