Two energy lawyers at the Philippines law firm Puno and Puno Law Offices (PunoLaw), Jose Layug Jr and Richie Avigale Pilares, have joined DivinaLaw as senior partners in Manila.
Layug, who is also the dean of the University of Makati School of Law since 2018, was a senior partner since joining PunoLaw in 2013 and was previously a chairman of the Philippines’ National Renewable Energy Board from 2016-2018.
Pilares, who is currently a professor at the Ateneo de Manila University School of Law and the University of Makati School of Law, was a partner for almost 15 years at PunoLaw and was appointed assistant secretary of the Department of Energy in 2016.
