At the end of June, 20 Indian National Bar Association (INBA) members visited Washington DC and New York to discuss US-India business ties, tax concerns and the opening of India’s legal market to foreign law firms.
The US and Indian delegations discussed issues relating to black money, cross-border law practice, the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act, corruption, M&A, intellectual property and doing business in the US and India. An agenda for increased cooperation between the INBA and the American Bar Association was put together at a meeting in Washington.
