In Tata Value Homes Ltd & Anr v Nityanand Sinha, Bombay High Court restrained an individual from posting defamatory content on social media about his former employer. The court also directed Sinha, formerly the head of the second plaintiff’s New Haven residential project in Haryana, to remove all defamatory content that he had posted about the company on social media.

Sinha had complained about the company, which is part of the Tata Group, to its employees and journalists after his employment was terminated in June 2015. He had also emailed one of the company’s investors. From September 2015, Sinha used Facebook and Twitter to make allegations against the company.
