Appleby has broadened its fund financing capability with the addition of new partner Lily Miao in the corporate department of its Hong Kong office. Miao has joined from the Hong Kong office of another offshore law firm, Mourant Ozannes, where she was a counsel.
David Bulley, managing partner of the Hong Kong and Shanghai offices, said, “With her extensive background and specialised expertise in fund financing, Lily represents a strategic hire who intersects with our leading banking and finance, and fund practices to further support our offering in Asia.”
As a native Chinese and English speaker, Miao specialises in banking and finance transactions, particularly in fund financing, and had also practised at Clifford Chance as an associate before her time at Mourant.
Over the years, she has advised clients ranging from international and mainland Chinese banks and financial institutions to listed and private corporations and investment funds.
