The Asia-Pacific Corporate Counsel Alliance (APCCA) has formed a working group to amend and update the charter it launched in 2009, in order to anticipate the further growth of the alliance.

The working group conducted its final meeting on 14 August to complete and agree on a final draft of the new charter, to be approved later by the APCCA’s leadership.

Working group members were: Arlene Lapuz Ureta, president of Legal Management Council of the Philippines (LMCP); Mel Nirmala, business director at the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA); Thavakumar Kandiahpillai, president of the Malaysian Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA); Deepak Acharya, a member of the national advisory council of the Federation of Indian Corporate Lawyers (FICL); and Yudhistira Setiawan, president of the Indonesian Corporate Counsel Association (ICCA).

The meeting was also attended by: Rebecca Andersen, director of the SCCA in Singapore; Reza Topobroto, secretary-general of the APCCA in Jakarta; Anil Changaroth, director of international relation of the APCCA in Singapore; and Ravi Thilakawardana, secretary of the APCCA and chair of the working group, in Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte.
