Amitabh Kumar, a former Indian revenue service officer, has joined J Sagar Associates as a senior regulatory and tax adviser based in the firm’s Delhi office.
Kumar recently retired as a commissioner of income tax. During his 31-year career, he handled diverse assignments in the fields of regulation, public finance and policy. He also acted as a consultant to the African Development Bank, The World Bank, the United Nations Development Programme and the Department for International Development (UK). Kumar was the first director-general of the Competition Commission of India from 2004 to 2009.
