With the current pandemic situation and travel restrictions, the best way to enjoy the summer sunshine in Hong Kong is a cruise offshore.

The Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Hong Kong did just that on 19 August, enjoying a fresh ocean air in boat party, taking every precaution to ensure safety of course, including ensuring the full vaccinations of all crew and passengers.

Sponsored by Linklaters, the boat took 11 guests on board including Linklaters’ partner Alexandra Bidlake and ACC Hong Kong directors Lin Shi and Erika Evasdottir.

“The junk captain is well known for his love of barbeque, and various other cooking skills,” Evasdottir told Asia Business Law Journal. “The boat was very well set up for cooking. So we more or less moved slowly around the harbour while the captain cooked for us, and then we ate heartily and happily. We had to be gently forced to leave the junk because everyone was sitting around far too happy to leave.

“We were sad that we could not invite more people to join. Hopefully, next year, we will be back to being able to invite 35 to 40 people, as we have done in years past.”
