Sandeep Bajaj, founder and managing partner of PSL Advocates & Solicitors, has stepped down from his current position to focus on his counsel practice.
Sameer Jain will continue as the founder and managing partner of the firm, which has also promoted Aakanksha Nehra, Suvigya Awasthy and Soayib Qureshi as equity partners. Vipul Jai has been promoted as partner and Himesh Thakur as counsel.
Commenting on his departure from PSL, Bajaj said, “This marks the end of an extraordinary chapter in my life. Leading this exceptional law firm alongside such talented individuals has been a profound privilege. I step away with intense pride in what we’ve collectively achieved and handing over the baton to the bright young colleagues.”
Bajaj has been actively practising and appearing for clients in cases related to dispute resolution, corporate commercial law, and insolvency and bankruptcy. He has also appeared in various courts pan-India as a counsel.
He began his practice in 2007 and five years later, he collaborated with Sameer Jain and Siddharth Jain to establish PAMASIS Law Chambers, later rebranded as PSL Advocates & Solicitors.
Among the three new equity partners, Awasthy has been with the firm since 2017 and is a specialist in commercial dispute resolution, with a strong emphasis on handling construction and infrastructure disputes, apart from domestic and international arbitration cases.
Nehra joined PSL in 2017 and has extensive expertise in insolvency, corporate commercial advisory, corporate debt restructuring, and recovery laws.
Qureshi, who has been affiliated with the firm since 2016, is an advocate on record in the Supreme Court of India. His areas of expertise include dispute resolution, corporate structuring, insolvency and bankruptcy, as well as constitutional issues.
PSL now boasts of a team of eight partners and more than 30 associates with offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and Chandigarh.
