Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has appointed Maurice Hoo as a partner and co-head of its global private equity practice. Based in the firm’s Hong Kong office, Hoo will have a regional and global private equity remit. He previously led the China private equity practice of US law firm Paul Hastings.
Hoo represents international private equity funds in investments in China and other parts of Asia. His client base includes private equity firms such as Warburg Pincus, as well as private equity groups within global financial institutions such as AIG Investments.
He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese and currently serves as counsel to the China Venture Capital Association and the China Real Estate Developers and Investors Association.
