AllBright Law Offices assisted in the completion of cross-border financing of more than RMB27 billion (USD 3.73 billion) for an urban renewal project on the North Bund in Shanghai.

Senior partners Amy Ye, James Miao, Luo Xianmin and partner Ben Yang were on the team, providing advice on PRC and Hong Kong law.

Further details on the financing transaction cannot be disclosed due to confidentiality agreements, AllBright said.

In this project, some houses in what was formerly a sub-grade two old section have been redeveloped into a large urban complex with high-end residential and commercial areas, and old architectural style areas. Sub-grade two old mile refers to old-fashioned lane neighbourhoods, where residents live in bungalows and buildings in a block of alleys and streets.

At present, companies such as shopping platform Meituan, anime video-sharing website Bilibili and internet tech firm ByteDance are already located in the district, which is expected to attract many scientific and creative talents.
