Tess Lumsdaine joins Baker McKenzie’s Hong Kong office as a partner, strengthening the firm’s capabilities in employment and regulatory compliance issues.

Lumsdaine is well versed in all aspects of employment, including contentious matters such as contractual disputes, restraint litigation, safety related prosecutions, civil claims, termination, information theft, discrimination and harassment. Her advisory experience includes executive employment, remuneration and regulatory issues in the context of hiring, mobility and exits.

She also specialises in managing cross-jurisdictional compliance and restructuring projects, and complex workplace investigations. A notable case involved Lumsdaine advising a technology company on post-acquisition employee integration and reduction across 13 jurisdictions.

Lumsdaine began her career at Brown Wright Stein based in Australia and practised for more than 12 years at the Sydney, Singapore and Hong Kong offices of Herbert Smith Freehills.
