IP specialist Anand & Anand has promoted Twinky Rampal to equity partner with Gitika Suri, Ritika Ahuja and Udita Patro becoming salaried partners.
Rampal has played a key role in the team’s trademarks department after joining the firm in 2008 and was involved in trademark prosecutions, advising clients on brand strategies, monetisation and commercial transactions.
Suri and Ahuja were technical directors at the firm and worked on patent prosecution, pre-grant opposition proceedings, revocation and appeals as part of the firm’s patents department.
While Suri has been at Anand & Anand since 2009 as a patent associate, Ahuja was previously an academic head and senior intellectual property consultant at GIIP, before joining Anand in 2015.
Patro has been promoted in the litigation department where she has delivered pathbreaking judgments for a diverse portfolio of clients. She was previously with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co before joining Anand in 2012.
Anand also promoted Imon Roy and Deepesh Bhardwaj from the litigation team, and Sannat Chandna from the trademarks team, to senior associates.
The firm also hired lawyers Radha Khera as managing associate in the fashion law practice; Baani Talwar, as senior associate for trademarks, and Pragya Singh Thakur as senior associate, patent and design.
Ruchi Madan, Shivani Chopra and Esha Mehta have also been recruited as senior associates in corporate practice.
The IP firm now comprises 101 lawyers including 31 partners.
