White & Case taps the expertise of Allen & Overy competition and consumer specialist Stefanie Benson, hiring her as a partner in its global antitrust practice based in Sydney.
Mark Gidley, partner and head of the global antitrust practice at White & Case in Washington, said the antitrust environment in the Asia-Pacific region continues to intensify.
“The current merger wave impacts core Australian sectors such as energy, infrastructure and technology,” said Gidley. “This wave requires in-country experience and the addition of Stefanie will allow us to advocate for companies in Australia and Asia-Pacific, and co-ordinate with our global merger practice.”
Benson, who was a counsel in the Sydney office Allen & Overy for more than five years, advises on the antitrust aspects of complex mergers and joint ventures, antitrust investigations and enforcement matters across the Asia-Pacific region.
Her experience spans wide sectors, including technology, financial services, energy and resources, ports, rail, aviation, health, agriculture and food manufacturing.
