VDB Loi has opened a new office in Dhaka supported by eight lawyers and tax consultants, including Osman Goni, Md Mahabub Islam Majunder, and Habibullah Shakil.
Senior partner Edwin Vanderbruggen, in Yangon, said that Bangladesh was a market with a lot of promise, a huge population, strong projected growth and a GDP per person surpassing that of India.
“With a very experienced team of licensed Bangladesh advocates and tax professionals, we will be supporting our clients in a wide range of areas such as energy, financing, PPPs [public-private partnerships] and M&A.”
VDB Loi was established in 2012 with about 20 fee earners in Phnom Penh. The firm opened offices in Ho Chi Minh City in 2013 and Vientiane in 2014, and currently has 160 fee earners in the region.
