Trowers & Hamlins has hired corporate lawyer Geoff Allen as a partner in its Kuala Lumpur office. Allen moved from his interim role at British multinational energy and services company Centrica in London, where he was a senior legal consultant.
Previously, Allen was the group general counsel and company secretary at construction company Arabtec Holding in Abu Dhabi from 2017 to 2020, after joining the company in 2012 as a legal director. He spent eight years with Eversheds Sutherland in Manchester before moving to an in-house role.
With his 17 years of experience working across different roles internationally, Allen has expertise in acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures, investments, corporate restructuring, governance and general corporate advisory. He is the third Malaysia-based partner after the firm obtained a qualified foreign law firm licence in 2015.
