Linklaters and Niederer Kraft Frey advised Bank of China International (BOCI) on launching the first digital structured notes based on public blockchain in Hong Kong valued at RMB200 million (USD27.7 million).

UBS Group issued the digital structured notes and placed them with its clients in the Asia-Pacific region.

This is the first securities product offered via the public blockchain Ethereum, and under Hong Kong and Swiss law.

Partners Liew Chin Chong and Jonathan Horan led the Linklaters team advising the BOCI on Hong Kong law. Niederer Kraft Frey partner Philip Spoerlé led the team counselling on Swiss law.
