Sundial Law Firm has opened its first branch in Hong Kong, signalling its expansion into the international market.

The Hong Kong branch was established in August 2022 and operated through an alliance with independent law firm Howse Williams. Following the end of the alliance last year, Sundial began operating independently.

Li Lijiao, a senior partner of the firm’s Shenzhen headquarters, has been appointed as the director and equity partner of the Hong Kong branch.

The new branch in Hong Kong provides services in various areas, including capital markets and M&A, dispute resolution, trusts and asset preservation, family and matrimonial matters, wills, probate, and estate management, regulatory compliance, banking and finance, and employment relations.

Sundial said it intended to consider Hong Kong as the starting point for its global push. It aims to align with the needs of both domestic clients and the international market, guiding Sundial’s clients towards globalisation and retaining localisation.
