The article, Glass ceilings, in your February issue was interesting, as almost all articles in India Business Law Journal are.
Personally, I have had no experience of the nepotism to which Kanan Dhru alludes. It is possible that there is a gender bias, but nepotism I will not subscribe to.
At our firm, ladies predominate, particularly in the disputes resolution practice. Not a single lady has any connection with the bar or the bench. We did have a female associate, who is now at the bar, who had a relation on the bench. We engaged her on merit and she progressed very well by dint of her efforts.
