Squire Patton Boggs has hired a team of employment lawyers in its Sydney office from Australian law firm McCabe Curwood. The team is led by partner Nicola Martin, who headed the employment practice group in her previous office for more than two years.
Bringing her particular focus on discrimination and harassment issues, Martin also brought Erin Kidd and Elisa Blakers, who joined as director and associate, respectively. They provide strategic advice across a range of labour matters.
Caroline Noblet, a global co-chair for labour and employment at Squire, said: “Nicola’s passion for delivering effective solutions to clients is matched by her technical abilities and both make her a good fit for our integrated global employment practice.”
Squire was launched in 2011 in Australia, when it took on 80 lawyers from Minter Ellison’s Perth office. The US firm has been strengthening its international ranks in recent months. Last month, it hired Singapore-based Clifford Chance partner Kate Sherrard, as it continues to invest in its recently launched commodities and shipping practice.
