Bangkok-based boutique law firm Silk Legal has unveiled its new office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) to expand its digital asset practice.

Jason Corbett, the firm’s managing partner, said: “Silk Legal has recognised a burgeoning opportunity to expand its digital asset practice into the DIFC, encompassing areas such as cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, Web3 and artificial intelligence. This strategic move comes in response to the DIFC’s emergence as one of the most rapidly evolving business hubs.

“The local government’s proactive stance towards technology adoption aligns seamlessly with Silk Legal’s expertise and objectives in the digital asset practice. Silk Legal aims to not only meet the growing demand for digital asset services in the region but also to catalyse further innovation and investment opportunities,” he added.

Silk Legal’s DIFC branch is poised to cater to diverse domains, including corporate and commercial law, fintech, Web 3.0 and AI regulations.

Corbett will lead the new office along with Gabriel Khoury, the firm’s expert in fintech, Web 3.0 and AI. “Our team is steadfast in aiding enterprises to embrace innovation and maintain a competitive edge in this rapidly evolving realm of emerging technologies. With the inauguration of the DIFC office, we eagerly anticipate collaborating closely with our clients to actualise their ambitions in this region,” Khoury said.
