Scores of legal luminaries helped the Singapore Corporate Counsel Association (SCCA) celebrate its 21st anniversary at the annual black-tie event on 2 November 2023 in the prestigious Raffles Hotel’s Jubilee Ballroom.
The evening featured special guest Edwin Tong SC, Singapore’s Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, and the Second Minister for Law.
An evening highlight was the presentation of the Chief Legal Officer Awards, recognising outstanding achievements in the industry. Winners included Mark Chee, senior vice president for legal compliance and risk at Resorts World Sentosa in the Singapore company/business category; Christian Greissinger, general counsel Asean Australia at Siemens in the global MNC category; and Gregory Tan, managing director of legal and regulatory at Temasek Holdings in the NGO/public entity category. Their dedication and exceptional accomplishments in the legal profession were lauded, emphasising the high standards required in the legal field.
Bryan Yeo, SCCA executive director, said the gala dinner and awards “represent an opportunity for the legal community to come together and recognise the remarkable contributions of our industry’s leading professionals. We are excited to celebrate excellence in corporate law and legal practice while fostering a sense of community among our peers. Additionally, we look forward to the SCCA’s initiatives and plans for 2024, which will shape our future direction.”
The success of the event leaned heavily on the crucial support of numerous sponsors. Special acknowledgements were given to the gold sponsor, DLA Piper; the silver sponsor, iManage; and the bronze sponsors, Cooley, Fangda Partners, Kim & Chang, Providence Law Asia, and Thomson Reuters Southeast Asia. Furthermore, the table sponsors ‒ Harneys, Lex Mundi, WongPartnership, Norton Rose Fulbright, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Rajah & Tann Asia, and Allen & Gledhill ‒ contributed significantly to the smooth running of the evening.
The SCCA represents corporate counsel and in-house lawyers in Singapore, promoting their interests and facilitating growth, development and networking opportunities.
