B Sriram has joined Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) as a senior adviser in the financial institutions group of the firm.
He has more than 37 years of experience in all areas of banking and finance. Sriram was the managing director of State Bank of India (SBI) for about four years and also MD and CEO of IDBI Bank before his retirement. He also had a stint as MD of State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur.
He has held board positions in various financial subsidiaries of SBI including SBI Life Insurance, SBI General Insurance, SBI DFHI, SBI Global Factors, SBICap Securities and SBI Cards & Payment Services. He was also a nominee director representing SBI on the boards of invested companies.
“The firm has very strong professional relationships with banks, financial institutions and financial investors,” said Cyril Shroff, the managing partner of CAM. “His presence will strengthen our offerings and further enhance our capabilities to support our financial institution clients.”
Sriram is a member of several boards and adviser to a number of corporates and financial institutions. He is also a part-time member of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India and a member of the external rating supervision committee, CARE Ratings. He has been on several committees constituted by the government of India and Reserve Bank of India in the financial sector.
