Real estate lawyer Ed Sheremeta has rejoined DLA Piper as a senior partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office. Sheremeta previously worked in the office in 2013 and 2014.
“We are delighted to welcome Sheremeta back to our firm,” said DLA Piper’s Asia regional managing partner, Satpal Gobindpuri. “Strengthening our real estate capabilities across the entire region is a key strategic focus and his appointment reflects our continued investment in the practice,” he said.
Sheremeta joined from Ropes & Gray in Hong Kong, where he headed that firm’s Asia real estate investment and finance practice for almost six years. He advises clients on real estate investment and finance matters in Asia, with a focus on China, and has knowledge of the Asia real estate market, having spent 20 years practising out of Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
He specialises in acquisitions and dispositions, private equity and institutional investments, limited recourse and secured financings, joint ventures, co-investment platforms, non-performing loans, real estate investment trusts, asset and property management, sale leasebacks, restructurings and general transaction structuring.
