Paul Hastings in Hong Kong has added partner Peter Cheng to beef up its capital markets practice.
Cheng specialises in IPO and listing compliance in the Hong Kong capital markets and also advises on M&A and private equity investments.
He was a partner in Deacons, Hong Kong’s largest domestic law firm, which in September made its first lateral partner hiring this year by adding corporate and commercial partner Mark Stevens.
Prior to Deacons, Cheng spent more than seven years at Davis Polk in Hong Kong. During his stint there, he was seconded to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange’s Listing and Regulatory Affairs Division, where he was involved in reviewing listing applications as well as developing related policies.
