Payel Chatterjee has joined Trilegal as a partner in the dispute resolution practice in Mumbai with a core focus on white-collar crime, investigations and international arbitrations.
Chatterjee has more than 13 years of experience in dispute resolution, international arbitration, litigation and white-collar investigations involving financial crimes, bribery, corruption and internal fraud. She has extensive experience with international projects involving cross-border elements, and managing arbitrations and litigations across forums.
Chatterjee was previously the litigation head (corporate) at Adani Enterprises, where she was responsible for the evaluation of pre-litigation strategies, and supervised high-value complex litigation and arbitrations in international projects across the globe and worked closely on domestic (institutional and ad-hoc) arbitrations in various sectors.
Prior to her stint with Adani Enterprises, Chatterjee was a leader in Nishith Desai Associates’ international disputes practice.
Chatterjee also serves as an editor to the International Bar Association, Business Crime Committee and is vice chair, Steering Committee, International Chamber of Commerce Commission on Arbitration and ADR.
