Economic Laws Practice has hired two chartered accountants to boost its tax advisory capabilities. Abhay Pitale joined the firm from Barclays Technology in Pune, while Ashish Bhatnagar was recruited from PricewaterhouseCoopers’ transfer pricing services team in Delhi. The duo have joined Economic Laws Practice as senior associates and will focus on transfer pricing services.
Pitale has extensive experience in expatriate taxation advisory and compliance services. He has drafted and reviewed secondment contracts and cost recharge agreements and helped structure entry strategies in India for foreign investors. In addition, he has advised clients on tax-related legislation and transfer pricing. Prior to joining Barclays Technology, he spent three years working in the direct tax department at KPMG in Pune.
Bhatnagar also worked at KPMG as part of the accountancy firm’s global transfer pricing services team in Delhi and Mumbai. His strengths lie in international tax advisory and transfer pricing. Bhatnagar has assisted clients with regulatory and statutory compliance evaluations and has also provided litigation support in appeals and tax assessments for multinational clients.
