DLA Piper has hired a dispute resolution partner Maurice Burke in Singapore as the head of investigations for Asia.
Burke joins from Hogan Lovells in Singapore, where he was a partner since 2014 and led the firm’s regional disputes practice.
Burke has more than 25 years of working experience in Asia, advising multinationals and industrial clients on a broad range of investigations including white-collar fraud, bribery, and contentious regulatory and compliance matters across the region. He began his career in 1997 at Herbert Smith Freehills.
Satpal Gobindpuri, DLA Piper’s Hong Kong-based co-regional managing partner in Asia, said that Burke’s strong network and excellent track record in his field would help drive the growth of the firm’s investigations offerings across the region.
“Southeast Asia is a strategic part of DLA Piper’s global offer, and in recognition of its high growth potential, we continue to invest in senior lateral hires that both deepen and broaden our market-leading services in the region,” said Gobindpuri.
