Full-service Malaysian firm Christopher & Lee Ong has hired Chua See Hua as a partner and co-head of the restructuring and insolvency practice in Kuala Lumpur.
Chua joined with an associate from her boutique firm, Chua Associates, which she founded in 2010. Following her departure in March, the boutique firm ceased its operations.
“The decision to join Christopher & Lee Ong was to push our restructuring and insolvency further, and tap into a wider clientele base of multinational corporations, as well as gaining access to a large regional law firm network with an established restructuring and insolvency practice in ASEAN,” Chua told Asia Business Law Journal.
Her practice extends to advising major corporations on transactions involving acquisitions and divestments of public and private companies, banking, property-related issues, private equity investments, and capital markets.
She also brings with her experience in restructuring and insolvency, and an extensive roster of local and international clients.
Yon See Ting, the managing partner at Christopher & Lee Ong in Kuala Lumpur, said Chua’s experience in restructuring and insolvency would add width and depth to the firm’s capabilities.
“We are delighted to have See Hua join us, as she brings to our established restructuring & insolvency practice a very experienced pair of hands, and will bring great value to our clients with her pragmatic and professional approach for which she is known,” said Yon.
