In Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Co Ltd v Anagha Vilas Kulkarni, the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) dismissed a challenge to orders of a district forum and a state commission, which were passed in favour of Kulkarni. Doing so, the NCDRC imposed punitive costs of ₹100,000 (US$1,500) on Godrej & Boyce for charging her more than the maximum retail price (MRP).
