Morgan Lewis is set to launch in Shenzhen, with a focus on the technology and life sciences industry, and IP expert Zhu Shaobin will lead the new office as the managing partner.
This will be Morgan Lewis’s fourth office in China, following Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
With a tech industry focus, Zhu, who is head of the firm’s China IP team, has a wealth of experience in advising Chinese clients on their IP litigations in the US, including all stages of patent prosecution, invalidation, defending IP counterfeits and data privacy issues. He also represents clients at international arbitration forums.
Zhu is admitted to practice in California, New York and Washington. He was ranked in the China Business Law Journal A-List of China’s elite 100 lawyers in foreign firms from 2019 to 2022.
The Shenzhen office will strengthen the connections between this city and other parts of Asia in technology and life sciences from its cross-jurisdictional and cross-practice capabilities, said Zhu and Jami McKeon, a litigation practice partner and chair of the firm.
