Universal Legal, an eight-partner firm with offices in Bengaluru, Chennai and five other cities, merged with IC Legal, a seven-partner Mumbai-based firm, on 21 September to form IC Universal Legal.
A statement issued by IC Universal Legal said the “full merger in terms of the books of accounts is currently underway”. The merged entity will continue an affiliation that Universal Legal has had with Chugh, a US firm of lawyers and accountants with offices in Los Angeles, Santa Clara and five other US cities.
Universal Legal’s managing partner, Partha Mandal, and IC Legal’s managing partner, Bheru Choudhary, will jointly head the merged firm, which has more than 100 lawyers and other professionals.
