Hylands Law Firm has hired Anjie Law Firm’s (now AnJie Broad Law Firm) founding partner Michael Gu as a senior partner in its Shanghai office to strengthen expertise in antitrust, compliance and government regulation.
Prior to this move, Gu was also a partner at Zhong Lun Law Firm.
With nearly 30 years of practice experience, Gu specialises in antitrust and anti-unfair competition, government regulation and compliance, as well as cross-border mergers and acquisitions.
He currently serves as an external antitrust law expert for the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation.
In 2008, he represented Germany’s Schaeffler Group in its acquisition of Continental, which was the first merger and acquisition antitrust review case approved by China’s Ministry of Commerce after the Anti-Monopoly Law came into effect.
