Job Description

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is seeking to fill a vacancy on the Asian Development Bank Administrative Tribunal (ADBAT). The ADBAT is an independent judicial body that hears and passes judgment on cases involving employment-related disputes between ADB and its staff members (as described further within its statute).

Members of the ADBAT are appointed by the Board of Directors. Members must be nationals of ADB’s member countries, and are appointed for a term of three years, with the possibility of reappointment for two additional three-year terms. Members receive daily remuneration based on work load, plus expenses when travel is required to ADB headquarters in Manila, Philippines (normally twice a year, depending on the case load).

ADB welcomes nominations of, or applications by, leading experts who have held high judicial office or are jurisconsults of recognized competence and have demonstrated international expertise and judicial experience in the fields of employment relations, international administrative law, and labor law.

  • Must be leading experts who have held high judicial office or are jurisconsults of recognized competence and have demonstrated international expertise and judicial experience in the fields of employment relations, international administrative law, and labor law
  • For third party nominations, qualified experts who wish to submit their own profiles may also do so in confidence
