Prominent Mumbai-based shipping lawyer S Venkiteswaran passed away on 21 December following several years of ill health. He was 73 years old.
“‘Venkey’, as he was fondly known in shipping circles, was a man of great erudition and extraordinary mental faculties,” said VM Syam Kumar, a partner at Southern Law Chambers in Kochi who previously worked under Venkiteswaran. “The gentle giant will be missed dearly not only by his near and dear ones, but also by the maritime circles in India, as he was the last resort to run to.”
